Monitor your workforce better with a Geo-fence!

Why do you think monitoring field workforce is vital for any organization? Is it because of security? Or productivity measures?

Geo-fencing for an enterprise can be effective to monitor workforce movement in the desired location. By setting a virtual fence, you can give clear instructions to your workforce. Creating a virtual fence and further offering it as part of a mobile app will actually let you know the location of the respective app users within this virtual fence. It will also tell when the executive entered or left the fence area. But how knowing the location information of users can be beneficial? To be precise there is an array of advantages related to this. Most prominent of them is the business advantage of triggering a push notification to the user.

When it comes to fuel costs, trying to manage what you don’t measure is like talking to a brick wall. Now.,  with geo-fencing you are monitoring your drivers’ fuel usage, driver behavior like idling and speeding significantly waste fuel etc.

How does it work?

Geofence is set with the help of GPS technology and just as GPS, it is also very sensitive and can offer you exact location-based information concerning the movement of the executive.  Such a fence can be covering any distance and diameter according to your necessity and preference. The fence can include an entire city, or you can choose to include a street just facing your business location. Geo-fence can effectively monitor workforce movements along with fuel used, idle time etc. with appropriate time specific notifications.

Typically Geofence does not always need to be created around your location. In a different way, you can use this technology for the benefit of your business. For instance, if you have food joint nearby an event location you can create Geo-fence around the event place rather than your food joint. Doing this you can send push notifications to the biker that he has a pick-up request, he then immediately reaches the joint/hub and pick the parcel/courier up for delivery. With immediate push notifications., the turn around time for any pickup and drop decreases and per pickup per field executive a minimum of 3-4 minutes would be saved. Assuming, there are five field executives in a fence/region and there are 8 jobs that have to be done then total time saved per day would be around 2.5 hours approximately.

Time saved for a day per field executive :   20 – 25 minutes

For the entire region that would be around :   160-180 minutes

Other benefits of Geo fencing include : calculating idle time & control of speed

To surmise, Geofencing is a superb technology with the revolutionary potential to transform so-called insignificant local data concerning a person’s movement into great business intelligence, security intelligence, workforce monitoring and management, remote surveillance of transport and people, etc.
